Phoenix International Airport Train Transfers

All passengers that arrive at Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport have several transfer options that can take them to the further destination. Besides rental cars, vans, and taxis you can also take public transportation.

PHX Sky Train

The PHX Sky Train is the most popular public transportation option. Sky Harbor Airport, PHX, serves three passenger terminals, which are all connected by the PHX Sky Train. The Sky Train also connects Terminal 3 and Terminal 4 at PHX Airport to 44th Street PHX Sky Train Station. From this station, you will have a direct connection to Valley Metro Rail, which offers access to Phoenix, Tempe, and Mesa.

Please be aware, that if you are traveling from Terminal 2 you should follow the walkway between Terminals 2 and 3 to the Terminal 3 PHX Sky Train station.

The PHX Sky Train runs seven days a week, 24 hours a day, with departures every 3-5 minutes.

Passengers who are departing from Sky Harbor Airport

All travelers who are going to the Sky Harbor Airport for their next flight departure will have to take the Valley Metro Rail and exit at the 44th St/Washington light rail station. From here, you can take the escalator up to the PHX Sky Train platform. The PHX Sky Train will then bring you to your departure terminal.

Passengers who are arriving at Sky Harbor Airport

Travelers who are arriving at The Sky Harbor Airport should access the PHX Sky Train, which can be found on Level 3, just where the gates and security checkpoints are located. Take the PHX Sky Train to 44th Street PHX Sky Train Station. From here, you can connect to the Valley Metro Rail that can bring you to your preferred destination.

Tickets

Valley Metro Rail fare can be purchased at stations, the Sky Train terminal and participating retail locations.

A 1-Ride fare is $2 and must be validated before boarding.

You can also purchase a 1-day ticket for $4.00, a 7 days valid ticket for $20.00, or 31 days valid ticket for $64.00.

Hours and Frequencies

Weekdays:

Passengers will find the first full trip of the day begins at 4:40 am, at the two end-of-line stations. From Monday to Thursday, the last full trip of the day begins at 11 pm and will arrive at the opposite end of the line around midnight. There will be extended service hours every Friday night. On Fridays, the last full trip begins at 2 am, and the train will arrive at the opposite end of the line at 3 am on Saturday morning.

The trains arrive every 12 minutes from 7:30 am to 6:30 pm. For all other hours, the trains will arrive every 20 minutes.

Weekends and Holidays:

The trains begin the first full trip of the day at 5 am at each of the end-of-line stations. The last full trip of the day begins at 11 pm, and the train will arrive at the opposite end of the line around midnight. There will be extended service hours every Saturday night. On Saturday nights, the last full trip begins at 2 am and arrives at the opposite end of the line at 3 am Sunday morning.

The trains will arrive every 15 minutes on Saturdays between 6 am and 7 pm. At all other hours, and on Sundays and holidays, the trains will arrive every 20 minutes.
